Bekraf is in the process of developing the Portamento project. This project is designed to protect the copyright of artists. To create a system that connects copyright owners with consumers, and to related agencies.
When a musician registers their work in the Portamento database, the system will calculate the work's valuation based on how many songs were downloaded or enjoyed online.
This platform will also calculate the amount of royalties to tax and ensure that the numbers can be accessed openly for all parties concerned.
Bekraf will explore applying blockchain technology to the Project Portamento because this project is seamless, evenly distributed to all stakeholders who have business interests from upstream to downstream in the creating and use of songs and music.
